The competition jury considered the total of 133 project proposals coming from non-commercial sector, territorial self-government organisations, municipal organisations, NGOs and public foundations.
“The City Is Us” competition is an annual competition aimed at promoting and developing partnerships between the local government and NGOs to boost creativity and civic engagement of residents.
This year the competition was organised in 8 nominations with the overall grants fund of about 22,4 mln roubles, priority nomination “Perm-300” being dedicated to the coming anniversary of the city.
The initial number of 160 proposals from non-governmental sector after the initial inspection was short-listed to 113, with the following distribution within the nominations: «Perm-300» – 38, «Healthy city starts with you» – 37, «Perm- the territory of culture» – 24, «Public partnership» – 19, «Development of civic society» – 17. 76 projects have become the winners and will be allocated grant subsidies from the city budget.
The competition rules provide for additional grants to be used to finance three more projects ranking next in the list, and these will be the ones in “Perm-300” category.
– The projects proposals were many, but their level and quality were very diverse. I do believe we managed to provide a fair and non-judgmental evaluation of the projects by involving experts from the city administration departments and Perm City Duma, as well as NGOs,” noted the Head of the Mayor’s Office Alexander Molokovskikh.
The largest number of grants-funded projects will be implemented in two categories, namely, “Healthy city starts with you” and “Perm-300”. “Development of civil society” and “Public partnerships” nominations feature 11 projects in each, 9 more projects will be financed in “Perm – territory of culture” category . The residents of Perm can also join 6 projects in the nomination “ Family – the basis of society”, with 3 more projects in categories “Nature in the city” and “Together we are united, strong and invincible!”
